Overview: We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our safety and environmental compliance programs. This role is crucial in ensuring our manufacturing facility adheres to OSHA regulations, supports quality management systems (QMS), and fosters a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other environmental and safety regulations.
- Stay current with OSHA 40 requirements and manage related training programs.
- Conduct regular audits to verify compliance with EHS standards.
Safety Programs:
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training for employees and contractors.
- Lead investigations into incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct drills for various scenarios.
Environmental Management:
- Oversee waste management, air quality control, and sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Collaborate with teams to reduce environmental impact.
Quality Management Systems (QMS):
- Integrate EHS initiatives within QMS protocols.
- Work with quality teams to ensure compliance with industry standards like ISO.
Facility Oversight:
- Partner with maintenance and operations to maintain a safe manufacturing environment.
- Inspect equipment, infrastructure, and safety systems regularly.
- Recommend safety-enhancing equipment in collaboration with purchasing and production teams.
KPA Systems Knowledge:
- Use KPA Flex or similar software for compliance, safety, and training documentation.
- Manage EHS data reporting, including safety metrics and compliance records.
Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for new and existing employees.
- Support supervisors in promoting safety awareness and best practices.
- Guide teams in applying Lean and Six Sigma principles to safety and efficiency improvements.
Cost Management:
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures in safety and compliance operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency while maintaining safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
- OSHA 40-hour certification is required.
- Experience with KPA Flex, QMS, and safety systems in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Proven experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
