Our client, a leader in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, is seeking an Environment Health and Safety Associate (EHS) to join their team. As an EHS Specialist, you will be part of a dynamic team supporting critical safety and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong negotiation abilities, and a self-directed approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Environment Health and Safety Associate (EHS)

Location: Norwood, OH

What's the Job?
  • Collaborating with site management and employees on key initiatives to meet compliance with corporate environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Conducting Risk Assessments and ensuring necessary assessments are completed, including HazOp, PHA, and OPHR activities.
  • Working towards compliance with ISO14001 and ISO45001 environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Interacting routinely with site management, supervision, and personnel on EHS-related matters.
  • Participating in special projects to address gaps in EHS programs.

What's Needed?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Process Safety, or 2-5 years of EHS related experience in the chemical, specialty chemical, and/or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Hygiene principles.
  • Strong background in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Preferred: Certified Safety Professional and advanced knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001 systems.
