Churchill Consulting Engineers is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our team working on environmental service projects for various local, state and federal agencies in our Berlin office (commutable distance from Philadelphia). Main responsibilities will be assisting with environmental permitting associated primarily with large scale infrastructure projects. Candidate should be energetic, self-motivated and eager to join a team of experienced professionals.

Role includes working on a small team to review environmental resources within a project area and obtain the applicable permits/authorizations for the project.

Main responsibilities will be assisting with environmental permitting associated primarily with large scale infrastructure projects. Candidate should be energetic, self-motivated and eager to join a team of experienced professionals.
Responsibilities:
Role includes working on a small team to review environmental resources within a project area and obtain the applicable permits/authorizations for the project.
- Desktop review of environmental constraints utilizing ArcGIS, Nearmap, NJDEP GeoWeb, USFWS IPaC, etc.
- Preparation of technical reports, e.g., Environmental Screening Reports, State or Federal permit compliance documents
- Field work to support environmental constraints review, e.g., wetland delineations
- Assist with preparation and procurement of environmental permits applications for design projects
- Coordination with clients and regulatory agencies, including attending meetings
- Develop documentation to demonstrate compliance with Executive Order 215 and National Environmental Policy Act, as required
- Assist clients with meeting mitigation requirements, including coordination with mitigation banks, designing mitigation sites, and yearly monitoring of sites
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Ecology, or related field
- 0-5 years of experience in environmental science and permitting
- Strong writing skills
- Experience with ArcGIS
- Experience performing wetland delineations preferred
- Familiarity with New Jersey vegetation preferred
- Familiarity with New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection regulations and federal environmental regulations preferred
- Excellent computer skills are REQUIRED. Must be efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
