TCP Analytical, an integrated manufacturer and distributor of consumable products for the life science research and specialty chemical markets is looking for an Environmental Health & Safety Manager based out of Charlotte, NC or Zelienople, PA.

The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will develop, implement, and manage a companywide safety program within the TCP's Specialty Manufacturing Division to promote and ensure effective safety operations across all TCP Analytical businesses. Reports to COO, Specialty Manufacturing.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the safety of our people, manufacturing processes, and facilities:

  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement safety policies and procedures
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, and codes
  • Accountable for all OSHA record keeping and reporting requirements, including OSHA 300
  • Performs Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) on critical operating process and identifies/implements improvements to minimize/eliminate safety risk
  • Provide and ensure necessary training for a safe work environment. Monitor appropriate safety -training records; as a minimum, training shall cover all elements required by law.
  • Lead site safety committees, develop proactive safety improvement plans, conducts employee training, and conducts safety inspections
  • Review safety incident reports, facilitate corrective actions, and communicate across TCP
  • Ensure all TCP Analytical locations are consistent in following the defined safety program/practices


Responsible for environmental and regulatory compliance:

  • Maintain all registrations, permitting, certifications, and reporting requirements with DHS, EPA, TTB, DOT, DEA, and OSHA.
  • Provides EPA Tier Two reporting, Hazardous Waste summary reports, waste permitting, disposal documents, pollution prevention, and other responsibilities identified in the most recent available copy of the CFR.
  • Ensure all activities related to the production, sale and transportation of TCP's chemical products comply with relevant local, national and international regulations
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation requirements. This includes package testing, assignment of proper training, review of carrier restrictions, permitting, and other responsibilities identified in the most recently available copy of the CFR.
  • Ensure compliance with the Tax and Trade Bureau requirements. Provide information regarding permits, usage reports, and other responsibilities identified in the most recently available copy of the CFR.
  • Ensure compliance with the local fire and business codes. Obtain information necessary for obtaining and/or submission of permits, licenses and other responsibilities identified in the most recently available copy of the applicable local and regional codes.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferred in safety, engineering, or chemical related
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with safety AND environmental compliance
  • Good cultural fit: Team-oriented, positive attitude, self-motivated, high-energy
  • Knowledge of successful safety programs and OSHA standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to be a change agent
  • Ability to travel 30-50% to TCP Analytical locations
