Environment Health & Safety Manager / EHS Manager

Exciting opportunity for a passionate hands-on Environment, Health and Safety Manager (EHS Manager) to join a F500 consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturer.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the EHS manager oversees and manages environmental, health, and safety protocols within the plant to ensure compliance with regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

Amazing opportunity to make an impact in this key flagship facility! Large plant with over 600 employees.

Compensation: $100K - $150K + 15% bonus + 9% 401K match + outstanding relocation.

Location: Modesto, CA

Responsibilities include:
  • Manage all aspects of Environment, Health and Safety programs.
  • Drive a comprehensive, multi-year strategy to continue the plant's journey towards EHS excellence.
  • Provide strategic leadership, training and guidance for the EHS department including people, data and budgetary responsibility.
  • Lead the conduction of accident investigations, root cause analysis and compile accident reports.
  • Provide technical expertise, strategic leadership and support plant on regulatory compliance issues.
  • Help to build a world-class EHS program.
  • Build and manage Safety Committees.
  • Plan, implement, and ensure effective training of all EH&S programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies.
  • Experience in leading accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Ensure effective communication and compliance of State, Federal, Local and Corporate Safety regulations.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 8+ years of EHS experience, with at least 4 years of EHS experience in a medium/large manufacturing plant.
  • 5+ years of supervisory/leadership/management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and implementing risk management strategies.
  • Experience in leading accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Lean / Continuous Improvement mindset.
  • Solid ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, influence safety culture, and drive compliance initiatives.
