Position Title: Climate Apprenticeship Program Manager
Location: Miami-Dade County, Florida
Pay: $28 - $30 Per Hour Based on Experience and Qualifications - 35 Hours A Week - 11 Months A Year

About Us:
Urban Paradise Guild (UPG) is committed to restoring urban ecosystems, creating food systems, and engaging the community through hands-on conservation and climate action. We collaborate with a diverse range of partners to create sustainable environments in South Florida.

Position Overview:
UPG is seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Manager to lead our Climate Apprenticeship Program. The Program Manager will be responsible for mentoring up to 20 young apprentices, coordinating educational projects, and fostering partnerships that promote environmental stewardship and climate resilience. This program is federally funded through AmeriCorps. A background check is required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Climate Apprenticeship Program
  • Supervise and coordinate with the Assistant Program Manager
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Director, President, and UPG employees
  • Learn and implement UPG's innovative habitat restoration methods
  • Design habitat and agriculture projects and oversee all aspects of preparation, installation and follow-up
  • Supervise the UPG nursery and train Apprentices in management and care
  • Mentor and guide apprentices through hands-on conservation projects and climate-focused education
  • Collaborate with community organizations, educational institutions, and local governments
  • Develop and manage program schedules, budgets, and reports
  • Coordinate fieldwork and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants
  • Support apprentices' professional development and growth
  • Facilitate communication between apprentices, partners, and stakeholders
  • Data Collection, Reporting and Timekeeping
  • At least 3 years of experience in program management or environmental education
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in working with volunteers, youth and diverse communities
  • Ability to work outdoors in South Florida weather conditions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and online communication tools
  • Valid Florida driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Agro-Ecology, Restoration Biology or related field
  • Experience in habitat restoration, conservation, or climate change projects
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or Creole
