Job Description
As a Microbiology Lab Technician, you will be responsible for entering sample data into the eLIMS system accurately and in a timely manner. You will conduct laboratory testing on all incoming samples efficiently and ensure that sample turnaround time goals are met or exceeded.

Responsibilities

• Enter sample data into the eLIMS system accurately and promptly
• Conduct laboratory testing on incoming samples efficiently
• Ensure sample turnaround time goals are met or exceeded
• Keep the work area clean, sanitized, and tidy
• Homogenize and aseptically split samples into bags
• Enrich samples with media
• Incubate samples using the LIMS system
• Check samples into retain using storage management
• Identify non-conformances and out-of-specifications samples
• Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment
The work environment includes two openings in plating with shifts from Monday to Friday, 12 PM to 9 PM, and Tuesday to Saturday, 2 PM to 11 PM. It is a 5-month contract-to-hire position. The lab operates in a repetitive environment with a focus on microbiological testing of pet food, ingredients, nutraceuticals, and food dyes. The workload can be heavy, requiring potential overtime of 1-2 hours per day, leading to a workweek of 45-50 hours. Candidates need to be comfortable with standing all day and using their hands extensively. The dress code includes lab-appropriate wear such as long pants, closed-toe shoes, lab coats, and safety glasses.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.38 - $18.38/hr.
