Job Description
As a Microbiology Lab Technician, you will be responsible for entering sample data into the eLIMS system accurately and in a timely manner. You will conduct laboratory testing on all incoming samples efficiently and ensure that sample turnaround time goals are met or exceeded.
Responsibilities
The work environment includes two openings in plating with shifts from Monday to Friday, 12 PM to 9 PM, and Tuesday to Saturday, 2 PM to 11 PM. It is a 5-month contract-to-hire position. The lab operates in a repetitive environment with a focus on microbiological testing of pet food, ingredients, nutraceuticals, and food dyes. The workload can be heavy, requiring potential overtime of 1-2 hours per day, leading to a workweek of 45-50 hours. Candidates need to be comfortable with standing all day and using their hands extensively. The dress code includes lab-appropriate wear such as long pants, closed-toe shoes, lab coats, and safety glasses.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.38 - $18.38/hr.

- Keep the work area clean, sanitized, and tidy
- Homogenize and aseptically split samples into bags
- Enrich samples with media
- Incubate samples using the LIMS system
- Check samples into retain using storage management
- Identify non-conformances and out-of-specifications samples
- Perform other duties as assigned
