GreenKey Solar is a nimble, fast-growing renewable energy development firm. Our goal? To combat the climate crisis head-on by developing utility scale renewable energy projects in key growth markets. We are small but mighty, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced. We work collaboratively in a hybrid environment with offices in Portland and Bend, OR. Your Mission:
As a Project Developer, you are an expert in all aspects of the solar project development cycle. You will primarily focus on bringing new, quality development opportunities to fruition and will help shepherd projects from start to finish. You know how to build lasting relationships with landowners and will work collaboratively with the development team to see projects through to completion. You will also have experience building relationships with local jurisdictions, stakeholders, and neighbors/community members as we expect our Project Developers to play a role in supporting our permitting team with the land use permitting process.

Your Role:
- Identify land suitable for solar: Collaborate closely with the development team and third-party consultants to identify quality sites in target areas.
- Lead Management: Reach out to interested landowners and explain our offering effectively by setting reasonable expectations, realistic timing and clear financial arrangements. You know how to get landowners excited by the opportunity to be part of the climate solution.
- Conduct lease negotiations: With help from internal counsel, facilitate lease negotiations with landowners and companies to acquire land rights to develop a successful project.
- Collaborate with Development Team: Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering Manager and Permitting Managers to ensure that all essential development activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Build Relationships: Landowners are your number one priority and you work hard to make sure that relationships are developed and maintained throughout the project lifecycle. This may require some travel to meet in person with landowners.
Qualifications:

- Experience: Experienced Project Developer with at least 3 years of experience developing utility scale solar projects or successful development of 10 commercial solar projects is highly preferred.
- Education: Degree in business, finance, real estate, or related field.
- Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects at various stages simultaneously.
- Mindset: Self-motivated, results-driven, and committed to high ethical standards
- Flexibility: Able to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
