Environmental Compliance Specialist (Stormwater)

Richmond, VA-100% in-office/in-field (no hybrid/no remote)

Position Overview:

As an Environmental/Stormwater Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our commitment to environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about environmental sustainability to embark on a rewarding career within a Fortune 500 company.

Responsibilities:
  • Stormwater Management: Assist in the development and implementation of stormwater management plans for construction sites, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • NPDES Compliance: Support the preparation and submission of NPDES permit applications. Monitor and report on compliance with permit requirements, and assist in the development of strategies to address any non-compliance issues.
  • Environmental Audits: Participate in environmental compliance audits to assess the effectiveness of stormwater control measures and identify areas for improvement. Work collaboratively with project teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of environmental compliance activities. Prepare and submit regular reports to regulatory agencies as required.
  • Training and Communication: Assist in the development and delivery of environmental compliance training programs for project teams. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to promote awareness of environmental regulations and best practices.

  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
    • Strong understanding of stormwater management principles and NPDES regulations.
    • Min of two years' environmental compliance/stormwater experience required, preferably from government and/or regulatory org.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data and generate reports.
    • Knowledge of relevant environmental laws and regulations.
