Job Title:

Stem Cell Biologist

Location:

Boston, MA (on-site)

About the Company:

Our client is a well-funded, research-first startup that is pioneering fertility treatment by producing eggs from somatic cells through human in vitro oogenesis. As the first company to induce meiosis in human iPSCs, their technology aims to make fertility treatments more accessible and affordable, potentially transforming infertility care and offering a new path to parenthood for millions worldwide.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Stem Cell Biologist to lead the development and optimization of protocols for deriving granulosa and other ovarian cells from human iPSCs. This critical role supports our mission of advancing human in vitro oogenesis. Join us for a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in a field with the potential to significantly impact global health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the optimization and implementation of protocols to generate functional ovarian supporting cells from human iPSCs.
  • Design and carry out transcription factor screening experiments to identify key regulators of ovarian cell fate.
  • Develop and characterize 3D ovarian organoids (ovaroids) by co-culturing iPSC-derived granulosa-like cells with meiotic oogonia.
  • Collaborate with the bioinformatics team to analyze bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing data, enhancing our understanding of ovarian cell development and function.

Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience with human pluripotent stem cells and directed differentiation protocols.
  • Proficiency in genetic engineering techniques, including plasmid design, cloning, CRISPR/Cas9, gene delivery systems (lentiviral/transposon), and pooled library screens.
  • Expertise in flow cytometry, FACS, and immunofluorescence microscopy, with strong experimental design and data analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with sequencing technologies, especially single-cell RNA-seq, and basic bioinformatics for data analysis.
  • Demonstrated success in executing complex, multi-step cell culture protocols and 3D organoid systems.
