MAU is hiring an Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist for our client in Jacksonville, FL. As an EHS Specialist you will implement environmental, health, and safety programs across assigned facilities to promote a compliant and "Zero Harm" culture. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information:
- Monday to Friday; 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Available for on-call support as needed, any day of the week
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related Physical Sciences (EH&S coursework or certifications preferred)
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience
General Requirements:
- Solid knowledge of operations and procedures to address straightforward issues, with a strong understanding of how other business areas impact the department or deliver professional services
- Identify and resolve immediate team issues, research data to determine actions, and adapt work methods based on established procedures, applying judgment in interpreting policies
- Oversee resource use, lead team operations, and ensure short-term goals are met while collaborating on priorities and deadlines
- Provide guidance, train team members, and offer specialized information as needed
- Influence team effectiveness, provide technical support, and ensure service quality, with actions primarily impacting a specific location or unit
Preferred Requirements:
- Current certification as a CPR/First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogen Trainer
- Completion of OSHA 30-hour training, NFPA 70E, Confined Space, and Hazardous Energy Control training
- Fall Protection Competent Person certification
Essential Functions:
- Implement and improve EH&S programs across one or more U.S. distribution facilities
- Partner with facility operations teams and EH&S staff to execute action plans, processes, and procedures that control EH&S risks and ensure compliance with safety, environmental policies, corporate EH&S guidelines, and improvement initiatives
- Conduct assessments to identify and mitigate hazards, including hazard identification, job safety analysis, risk assessments, pre-startup safety reviews, PPE checks, machine guarding, hazardous energy control, and more
- Deliver training across EH&S topics to ensure compliance with legal and company requirements, fostering positive employee engagement
- Lead collaborative incident reviews to determine root causes and develop corrective/preventative actions
- Coach personnel at all levels on critical safety skills, behaviors, and techniques to build and sustain a strong safety culture
- Conduct or support industrial hygiene evaluations to identify hazards, risks, and trends
- Participate in or conduct internal audits, compliance assessments, and inspections
- Support EH&S programs for contractors and construction projects
- Maintain EH&S documentation, records, and management information tools
- Develop and implement personal objectives aligned with organizational goals
- Participate in audits and inspections conducted by external parties, including OSHA, EPA, insurance carriers, and corporate reviewers
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
