What are the top 3-5 skills, experience or education required for this position:
  • Highly experienced in mammalian cell culture
  • Experience with immunofluorescence protocols and fluorescence microscopy or high content imaging
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in cell biology or similar field
  • Ability to independently design, execute, troubleshoot, and report on lab experiments

What is a nice to have (but not required) regarding skills, experience, education, or certification:
  • Preferences for experience with arrayed phenotypic screening; previous industry experience; Master's degree or higher; CRISPR
  • We have an exciting opportunity to join our collaborative team of geneticists, molecular and cellular biologists, and bioinformaticians.
  • We are seeking a talented and independently motivated scientist with experience in mammalian cell culture, immunofluorescence, and fluorescence microscopy or high content imaging.
  • This position will be primarily laboratory-focused and will support imaging assay development and execution, CRISPR and small molecule phenotypic screening, and implementation of cutting-edge technologies to assess gene function and drug mechanism of action.
  • Applicants should have broad laboratory research experience using cell and molecular biology techniques.
  • Open and detailed communication are essential.
  • The candidate is expected to operate in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary setting and must be able to execute multiple research projects in parallel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Optimize and execute in vitro functional assays with imaging-based readouts in cell lines and primary cell models
  • Perform CRISPR/Cas9 functional genomics research using high-content imaging assays
  • Develop, implement, and document new experimental protocols/techniques
  • Engage in cross-functional target identification and validation projects to support early drug discovery efforts in oncology, immunology, and neuroscience
  • Collaborate with scientists across diverse areas in a matrixed research environment
  • Manage multiple tasks and project activities simultaneously
  • Communicate and present project designs and results clearly, both to individual stakeholders and in group settings

Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Cell Biology or related discipline with 3+ years of experience
  • Experience with immunofluorescence and fluorescence microscopy required
    Arrayed screening experience is highly desirable
  • Expertise in in vitro cell culture required
  • Ability to learn new skills and apply them in a fast-paced research environment is a must
  • Highly developed problem-solving and communication skills required.
