Plexus seeks a Safety Health Environmental Specialist who will work in Belle, West Virginia.
Located just 10 minutes from the Capitol city of Charleston, Kureha produces a raw material for a revolutionary biodegradable plastic at the only plant of its kind in the world. Their product spans multiple industries, with oil and gas being our primary customer. Kureha is an international company with 4,300 employees around the world.
The scope of this position includes leading, overseeing, and driving all aspects of the implementation and maintenance of the facility's safety, health, and environmental (SHE) programs. The SHE Specialist is a leader and supports the organization by providing guidance for safe operation of the facility and compliance with government and company SHE regulations, policies, and procedures. Experience in both safety AND environmental compliance is required.
Responsibilities:
· Develop, implement, and maintain SHE policies, procedures, and programs.
· Administer SHE program management, including but not limited to auditing, monitoring, reporting, and record keeping.
· Provide technical guidance, coordination, and support regarding various SHE issues to the organization.
· Organize and assist management and supervision with training employees and contractors regarding SHE topics.
· Conduct SHE audits, inspections, and investigations and assist the organization in identifying corrective actions.
Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher. Safety, Health, and Environmental or related field preferred.
Preferred experience in the following:
· 5 years of SHE experience in manufacturing or construction required with experience in chemical manufacturing preferred.
· Demonstrated understanding of SHE regulatory requirements and current "best practices." Examples are given below.
o Federal and state air, water, and waste regulations
o EPCRA regulations and reporting
o OSHA Standards, including Process Safety Management
o NFPA Standards
o TSCA reporting requirements
