Job Description
We are seeking an Microbiologist to join our USP lab team. In this role, you will conduct routine analysis and testing for pathogens such as E. coli, Salmonella, and Listeria. You will also be responsible for plating yeast, mold, and performing total plate counts using various media and dilution techniques. An upcoming project is planned for mid-March to April, which includes a 30% increase in sample volume and spans multiple phases. Phase 1 will take approximately 1-2 months, with subsequent phases potentially impacting the entire year.
There is also an opportunity for future training in the Probiotics lab, focusing on the enumeration of probiotic samples, dilution plate methods, pour plate methods, and flow cytometry.
Schedule: 4-10 hour shifts (Wednesday-Saturday) 9:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m.

This is a fully on-site position in Madison, Wisconsin.
Work Environment
Work is focused on testing dietary microbiology and probiotics in a fast-paced environment. This can be viewed as production work due to client timeframes and may become repetitive depending on the assigned group. The microbiology department has around 20 employees and operates in a separate lab from the chemistry department. The facility is located in Madison, where there are 415 employees, with a total of 800 employees.

- B.S. in Life Sciences (Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, etc.)
- Experience in food testing or client services
- Media preparation
