JLSa2 is a new and recently launched seed-stage venture backed company, located in South San Francisco, focused upon developing novel multifunctional protein-drug conjugate therapies to address human metabolic diseases and other non-oncology related diseases.
The company is seeking a RA/SRA to contribute to the discovery biology group through hands on in vitro characterization of the multifunctional conjugates with cell-based bioassays. The candidate is also expected to contribute to multiple aspects of product development as our programs progress from research stage into early clinical development.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will perform functional screening assays of research candidates using ELISA, cell based bioassays, and kinetic-based binding assay formats (eg:Octet or Gator). The candidate will work in a highly collaborative team with the conjugation and analytical teams, as well as senior leadership, to ensure data integration across functional areas to ensure rapid decision making and product iteration cycle time. This position is expected to be on site at our SSF facility.
Qualifications:
BS/MS in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or related scientific field and minimum 2-4 years of industry experience in potency assays and mammalian cell culture is required.
Experience with cell-based potency and bioassay methods, cytotoxicity assays, reporter assays, proliferation assays, and/or ADCC, attention to detail and ability to organize multiple experiments with multiple analytes is required.
Experience using Microsoft Office, and data analysis software like PRISM, PLA, or Softmax Pro is a plus.
Demonstrated proficiency in designing experiments, interpreting, and presenting data is preferred.
Prior experience with bioconjugates is desirable.
Flexibility to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced start up environment is essential.
Good communication skills are essential.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $115,000 (Compensation and level will be commensurate with experience and expertise and could fall outside of the stated range)
