Responsibilities
The Razidlo laboratory is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to investigate the molecular mechanisms of tumor cell invasion and the intersection with cellular metabolism. Our research program is primarily focused on pancreatic cancer and uses biochemistry, cell biology, mouse models, and patient datasets to identify novel therapeutic strategies for metastatic cancer.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in basic biochemistry, molecular, and cellular biology, with experience in at least one of the following: cancer biology, cellular metabolism, mouse models, analysis of large datasets. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Candidates should be self-driven and also thrive in a team environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with the PI to lead a research project
• Design and conduct rigorous experimental research
• Analyze data and maintain detailed documentation
• Present results to the PI, laboratory, and interest groups
• Prepare resulting manuscripts
• Present mature studies at conferences
A Research Fellow position in Life Sciences (LS) will require knowledge of either clinical-based research or laboratory-based research often obtained from a postdoctoral program.
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Upon background check and CCATS Executive Committee approval, Research Fellow may have patient/research subject contact directly relating to and incidental to the original research program. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
Qualifications
Must have a Ph.D.in Life Sciences (biochemistry, cell biology, cancer biology or related field). Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere. Publication record in rigorous peer-reviewed journals and hands-on experience performing experiments in related areas including cell culture, protein biochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, molecular biology, mouse models of cancer strongly preferred.
