About ProBio

ProBio proactively provides end-to-end CDMO service from drug discovery to commercialization with proactive strategies, professional solutions and efficient processes in cell and gene therapy (CGT), vaccine, biologics discovery and antibody protein drug to accelerate drug development for customers. ProBio's total cell and gene therapy solution covers CMC of plasmid and virus for IND filing as well as clinical manufacturing and commercial manufacturing. In terms of plasmid service, ProBio supports the most clinical approvals for CGT drugs including mRNA vaccines, CAR-T in China. It is also the first GMP manufacturing platform to provide in vitro transcription (IVT) template linearized plasmids for mRNA vaccines and has supported several mRNA vaccine global enterprises to obtain clinical approvals. Job Scope:

We are seeking a highly motivated experienced scientific leader with a multi-disciplinary background in the areas of molecular biology product development focusing on synthetic biology. This position will involve research and collaboration with scientists and engineers to develop new molecular biology products and services.

Location: Redmond, WA

Responsibilities:

  • Lead from the bench to drive the design of molecular biology products and services with GenScript's proprietary semiconductor based high-throughput DNA synthesis platform.
  • Innovate to lead the next generation gene synthesis technology with simplified process, enhanced quality and safety profile. Innovate through develop new synthesis technologies, and related assay methods.
  • Lead new product development to expand service capability and scope, including but not limit to gene and library assembly technologies, and cell free DNA amplification and synthesis technologies.
  • Lead tech transfer for research project's translation, collaborate with manufacturing team and quality team to ensure a successful product launch and continuous process improvement in an ISO 9001 compliant environment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in identifying and resolving production bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Work collaboratively with partners in bioinformatics, chemists, and other key functions to translate research progress into a competitive platform technology providing services in biosynthesis technology field.
  • Critical evaluate experiment data and communicate scientific findings as verbal presentations and written reports and provide updates on project status.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • PhD. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Synthetic Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical Engineering, or related biomedical field with a minimum of 5-year experience in the pharmaceutical company, biotech or related industries
  • Track record of success in assay and product development
  • Strong background in molecular biology techniques for nucleic acid manipulation and analysis, including primer/probe design, PCR, isothermal amplification, gene assembly, cloning, qPCR, DNA/RNA purification, capillary electrophoresis, 2nd or 3rd generation sequencing, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in molecular biology, biochemistry, enzymology, DNA, RNA and protein synthesis mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of automation principles and experience in designing control systems for microfluidic devices is a plus.
  • Demonstrated initiative and pursuit of successful collaborative research projects with interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstration of goal-oriented, hands-on and innovative approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent documentation practices. Able to prepare documents including data summaries, technical, analytical, and scientific reports, and transfer the procedures to manufacturing.
  • Self-motivated and passionate. Comfortable to work in a fast-paced work environment.
