1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, will be supporting 24 hour facility

As the Manager, Regional Environmental Health and Safety (REHS), you will be responsible for overseeing occupational safety, environmental compliance and supporting our sustainability initiatives by identifying opportunities to actively engage employees, leveraging expertise and technologies to solve complex problems, and providing ideas and solutions to support continued growth and performance excellence at our U.S. and Canada operation sites and production locations.

What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Manage, plan and implement regional level environmental, health and safety programs and systems to assure due diligence of regulatory and internal company expectations at multiple locations within respective geographical area.
  • Responsible for the development and performance of GXO EHS programs and systems, KPI monitoring/trending/reporting, scheduling and executing EHS program audits and inspections, embedding best in class EHS practices, ESG performance reporting and supporting operation emission reduction initiatives.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Site and Zone EHS professionals to embed and validate EHS culture, expectations, processes, and procedures to successfully achieve GXO and customer EHS performance objectives and target and create business value.
  • Ensure Regional site processes, documentation and training related to handling, storage and transportation of dangerous goods is accurate and up to date.
  • Implement and embed regional site sustainability strategies and initiatives aligned with GXO values and goals while also monitoring and reporting site sustainability performance and progress. Communicate, influence and build consensus among site level senior leadership across the region to advance EHS and Sustainability policies, programs and initiatives. Work with leaders to create and ensure we are providing safe and compliant workplaces, in alignment with company policies and various state and federal regulations.
  • Proactively conduct EHS evaluations in all sites to assess risk, effectiveness of controls and implement changes as needed to improve the overall effectiveness of processes, training, visual tools, and equipment.
  • Review, analyze, develop, and communicateoccupational health and safety programs and solutions initiatives
  • Generate and maintain required reports; analyze injury reports for trends and necessary modifications to PPE
  • Oversee PPE programs purchases in all facilities; oversee and approve all safety SOWs, work instructions, and forms.
  • Conducts comprehensive safety audits for designated at-risk sites
  • Performs both onsite and remote safety training addressing specific topics for leadership and site management.
  • Provides in-depth training addressing Intelex Risk Management system to all site management teams.
  • Support new site start-ups involving a large curriculum of required safety training (3-4 weeks)
  • Support Environmental performance and reporting efforts to ensure local, State and Federal compliance of air, waste and water permitting, where applicable.
  • Develop EHS professionals as domain experts and leaders to continue to grow their careers.
  • Use domain expertise to solve problems, influence to engage others in those processes to create ownership of shared solutions.
  • Leverage data and reporting to validate compliance, to identify opportunities to improve performance, and to implement new ideas and sustainable solutions as needed.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:
  • 5-7 years of environmental, health and safety experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of the supply chain and logistics industry
  • Knowledge of industry-related state and federal rules and regulations for hazardous and universal waste, stormwater, and a fundamental knowledge of permitting and compliance assurance
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Basics of lean manufacturing
  • Experience in working with regulatory partners

It'd be great if you also have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
  • A passion for sustainability and /or workplace safety
  • Knowledge of EHS in a warehousing/distribution environment
  • Availability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Solid leadership and customer service skills
