Job Description
  • Directs safety, health, environmental, and security activities to ensure compliance with regulations and policies
  • Minimizes workplace risks and ensures adequate employee training
  • Recommends and implements program improvements
  • Collaborates with facility management on safety and environmental goals
  • Manages safety programs and accident investigations
  • Builds effective relationships with managers, supervisors, and employees
  • Oversees environmental programs like Wastewater, Solid Waste, and Hazardous Waste

The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field, or equivalent experience with over 5 years in industrial health, safety, and environmental compliance, preferably in manufacturing, particularly the food industry
  • Completion of OSHA 511 and 501 courses
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements and strategies for implementation
  • Ability to interpret technical procedures and government regulations effectively
  • Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills for assessing performance metrics
  • Proven experience in developing, delivering, and maintaining training programs
  • Capacity to adapt to evolving organizational requirements and guide others through transitions
  • Excellent organizational skills with a focus on prioritization and attention to detail
  • Team player with leadership capabilities across various functions and disciplines
  • Willingness to be on call and adjust work schedule based on business demands
  • Experience collaborating with local regulatory authorities
