What You'll Do
* Independently manage wetland and natural resource projects, ensuring compliance with federal [USACE] and state wetlands regulations and guidelines.
* Perform related field work on assignment, including day and possibly overnight trips.
* Conduct wetland delineations, soil investigations, mapping, and related documentation.
* Perform stream assessments, studies, and buffer determinations.
* Conduct screenings for protected species and habitat assessments.
* Coordinate with local agencies and USACE on 401/404 permit applications to secure successful authorizations.
* Prepare project proposals and budgets, write technical project reports, and maintain project budgets.
* Handle project invoicing, review daily field reports prepared by field staff, and perform peer reviews of deliverables from other Project Managers.
What We're Looking For
* BS in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Soil Science, Geology, or a related field.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting professionals environmental and/or natural resources projects in a similar capacity
* Proficient in environmental principles, regulatory processes, applications and documentation
* Exceptional oral and written communication skills
* Strong project management capabilities
* Basic knowledge of permitting processes and environmental test methods
* Willingness and ability to work outdoors in the elements and follow all safety protocols, processes, and policies.
Nice to have:
* Registered Licensed Soil Scientist (LSS)
* Working toward professional certifications such as: PWS, CWB, PG, PE, AICP
