Job Title: Biologist 3-5 years, 2488
Location: New York NY (Onsite)
Type: Contract, 12 months
Shift: 9 am - 5 pm, M-F
Pay Rate: Up to $49/hour depending upon experience
Must Haves: Bachelors with 3+ years, Master's with 1+ years or PhD with 0+ years of work experience in academia/industry in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience or applicable field.
Hands on experience performing biochemical/ immunological assays including qPCR, ELISA, MSD (Meso Scale Discovery*), Western blot and knowledge of basic techniques in molecular biology is required.
Excellent Record keeping skills using electronic notebooks.
Experience in assay development is desirable.
Industry experience and familiarity with following SOPs and FDA guidance in analytical development, qualification and validation is a plus.
Working independently with minimal supervision
Team player, with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to think critically and creatively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative scientific environment.
Responsibilities Development, optimization, qualification, and validation of bioanalytical assays to support biomarker identification and discovery efforts, using quantitative and semi-quantitative platforms such as ELISA, MSD, automated Western, qPCR, RT-qPCR etc.
Support sample analysis from in vitro and in vivo studies. Execute experiments involving different immunological assays and molecular biology techniques.
Critically analyze and interpret the data generated.
Effectively communicate the findings in meetings and collaborate with scientists working on multiple programs.
* Meso Scale Discovery a method similar to ELISA except MSD uses electrochemiluminescence (ECL) as a detection technique as opposed to a colormetric reaction employed by ELISA. Meso Scale Discovery has developed proprietary technology for the measurement of molecules in biological samples.
