Job Description:
Dewberry is seeking a Resilience Planning Project Manager to join our multi-disciplinary and action-oriented team. This position will support the Resilience Solutions Group at the intersection of planning, policy, and technical analysis in hazard mitigation, emergency management, and climate change adaptation. The Resilience Planning Project Manager will have responsibilities that include project management, task management, client relationship management, and technical oversight. In addition to project management prowess, candidates must have a proven track record of successful project management/task management for resilience-related projects and have direct experience completing technical work in areas such as vulnerability assessment, hazard mitigation, community planning, environmental justice, natural resource management, and research and planning related to Federal (e.g., FEMA, USACE, NOAA, and USFWS), state, and local agencies. The individual selected for this position will work closely with Dewberry's national experts in resilience, hazard mitigation, and climate change adaptation, and will have opportunities to support Dewberry projects in other markets.

Responsibilities:
Candidate will serve as a Resilience Planning Project Manager/Task Manager on a variety of projects and related services. Work responsibilities may include:

Managing, leading, executing, and/or providing technical support for resilience, hazard mitigation planning, or climate change adaptation projects within the municipal, regional, state, tribal, and federal markets.

Planning and coordinating all aspects of projects, including managing scope, schedule, budget, and project resources.

Communicating with clients, establishing goals and objectives for project teams, and scheduling and coordinating resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the performance expectations of the client.

Leading interdisciplinary teams in the preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations, as well as developing scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for new projects.

Bachelor's degree in planning, emergency management, public policy, urban design, landscape architecture, or related fields. Master's degree preferred.

Proven record of managing interdisciplinary teams and delivering projects successfully, profitably, and to the client's satisfaction.

At least 5 years of professional experience in resilience planning.

Experience in resilience strategy and plan development, hazard mitigation plan development, climate change vulnerability/risk assessment, public outreach/stakeholder engagement, social equity and environmental justice, and/or economic and demographic analysis.

Robust knowledge of Federal and state emergency management, climate, and resilience-related laws and regulations, as well as best practice standards and guidance.

Excellent oral and written communication skills are required as this is a leadership position requiring close work with clients as well as the guidance, coaching, and mentoring of junior staff.

Optional Skills & Experience:

Client service management and proposal preparation experience.

Familiarity with federal grant programs (e.g., FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance) and non-governmental mitigation and resiliency grant programs; and knowledge of how states develop, manage, and implement these grants.

Knowledge and ability to use the following computer applications: ArcMap/ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, Tableau, Power BI, Adobe InDesign, and other data processing, visualization, and design tools.

AICP, CFM, and/or PMP certifications.

Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
