The Program Manager for Driver Safety is responsible for shaping and leading the health and safety function of our expansive vehicle fleet. This position demands a strategic thinker with strong health and safety knowledge, ensuring compliance, and driving the development of a robust driver safety strategy. The successful candidate will demonstrate professional credibility, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a culture of engagement and accountability. This role is tasked with reducing our collision frequency rate across our family of brands.

Responsibilities:
You Will. . .
Serve as trusted Safety partner for our field teams
Consistent engagement with our field teams to include field visits as needed (minimum 25% travel)
This person must understand the basics of building a safety culture, OSHA, fleet safety, safety policies, and be capable of refining policies as business needs change over time
Provide technical expertise and consultation to leadership regarding fleet and teammate safety to drive sustainable, proactive safety-conscious behaviors
Manage driver and fleet safety programs including vehicle safety technology to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations. Assess company risk profile control program activities efforts to communicate, train, and develop critical skills
Partner with field leaders to ensure that safety-sensitive messages are in place and effectively communicated in new hire and on-going training programs
Provide technical expertise and act as a resource in the preparation of training materials regarding OSHA and driver safety
Analyze risk trends and take action to minimize driver risk
Participate in division OSHA or DOT compliance inspections and audits that may occur
Ensure continued compliance with Federal and State Department of Transportation regulations; ensure recordkeeping requirements are met
Promote a safety culture throughout the organization, fostering an environment of continuous improvement in H&S performance
Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements to management to ensure compliance
Lead and oversee regular audits, inspections, and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and develop corrective action plans
Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust driver and fleet safety programs, policies, and procedures that effectively mitigate workplace risks and hazards
Continually monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, recommending enhancements and innovations where necessary
Provide expert guidance and direction to site managers and supervisors, ensuring consistent adherence to health and safety protocols
Lead and oversee investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and developing preventative measures
Maintain accurate records of incidents, injuries, and safety-related data, analyzing trends to identify areas for improvement
Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:
The Experience You Will Bring (Minimum Requirements):
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum 5 years safety experience
Experience in a distributed workforce organization or similar route-based experience preferred
Must be a Certified Safety Professional or achieve certification within the first (2) years
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage by influence through strong relationships and process focus
Ability to effectively present results and recommendations to leadership
Intermediate Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
Excellent organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, maintaining attention to detail
Strong customer service skills
Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, Telematics, In-cab cameras, and other applicable health and safety standards
A professional safety certification through a nationally recognized safety organization, such as the National Safety Council, or a college degree in Safety Management
Physical Demands / Working Environment:
We require the ability to pass a drug screen and background checks. Candidates must have the ability to perform the requirements of the job with or without accommodations. No travel required.
Must reside in the metro Atlanta area.
