Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

Location: Newbury Park, CA
Duration: 2 Months (Immediate Start)
Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation:
  • Hourly Rate: $60/hr
  • Pay: Weekly

Schedule:
  • Hours: Monday to Friday (40 hrs/week)

Project Scope:
Environmental safety manager EHS support including stormwater, industrial wastewater, air, and related regulatory permitting
HAZMAT
Air Monitoring
Ground/Soil monitoring
Environmental waste removal
Earth remediation

Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3+ years in environmental health and safety.
  • Certifications: Must have experience with stormwater, wastewater, air monitoring, and environmental permitting

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct project safety inspections and employee orientations.
  • Provide safety training as needed.
  • Monitor worksite employees and enforce safety practices.
  • Review and manage safety-related documentation.
  • Perform additional EHS-related tasks as required.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, EHS standards, and manufacturing safety practices (e.g., machine guarding, LOTO, PPE, materials handling).

Skills:
  • Excellent public speaking and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience with OSHA outreach training is a plus.
  • Confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.

Work Environment:
Primarily in warehouse, clinical, manufacturing, and construction settings. May require after-hours work or occasional weekends in response to emergencies.
