Essential Functions:
The successful candidate will collaborate with our Region EHS department to contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of various projects aimed at enhancing workplace safety and health, environmental compliance, and risk mitigation.
The successful candidate will work on a project in one of the three key areas listed below:
- Safety: Participate in initiatives to promote a strong safety culture within the organization. Participate in risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for mitigation. Work on implementing measures to reduce workplace risks and improve overall safety.
- Health: Support the team in conducting assessments of workplace health risks and participate in the development of strategies to mitigate occupational health hazards, including the development of an industrial hygiene database.
- Environment: Contribute to monitoring programs for environmental compliance, waste management, air and water quality. Assist in data collection and analysis to identify potential environmental impacts, including the development of an environmental permitting database.
In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Project Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with EHS professionals to plan and execute specific projects related to environmental, health, and safety initiatives. Assist in defining project scopes, objectives, and timelines.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct research and gather relevant data to support project objectives. Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and management, to ensure the successful implementation of EHS projects.
Required Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in a two or four-year accredited degree program, preferably in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Public Health, or related field
- Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PPT, Excel
- Working knowledge of MS Teams/Zoom
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal
- Good interpersonal skills
- Team oriented
- Results focused
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexible, but organized
