Summary of Job: We are seeking an environmental scientist or environmental planner to support our environmental planning, compliance, sustainability, and remediation projects across the United States. LRS provides technical, regulatory, compliance, and public affairs services for our federal clients to manage environmental challenges impacting all natural and human environments. Projects will vary in size, complexity, and client. We are seeking an initiative-taker with a strong desire to excel and be part of a growing organization.

Detailed Job Description: The ideal candidate for this position will have a degree in one of listed disciplines with 2-5 years of relevant work experience with an emphasis on environmental planning, due diligence, regulatory compliance, energy or sustainability management. Projects may comprise regulatory permitting, environmental planning including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, sustainability management, compliance and inspection, water resource management, and other technical support services. The Environmental Planner / Scientist will assist with reviewing and preparing technical studies, perform research, conduct environmental analyses (field and desktop), and assist in the preparation of technical documents. The selected candidate will report to the Severna Park, MD office with options for work considered. Occasional travel (nationwide) to project sites will be required.
Projects will further involve regulatory agency coordination, frequent client interaction, and exposure to multiple environmental disciplines. Candidates will be expected to take initiative, work independently, manage multiple tasks concurrently, be an excellent collaborator, and represent LRS Federal professionally.

- Four-year degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, biology, ecology, or a related discipline.
Minimum Experience Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience with a technical background in environmental science or policy.
- Past experience with federal government projects preferred but not required.
- Strong oral communication and technical writing skills are necessary.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- GIS skills and knowledge preferred.
- Must have a good driving record and valid driver's license.

- Plan, schedule, conduct, and manage detailed phases of assigned projects.
- Conduct research to support decision making and to plan and coordinate field or desktop investigations.
- Provide technical expertise or support in environmental science to include, but not limited to: NEPA, RCRA, CERCLA, CAA, CWA, sustainability, and/or energy management requirements.
- Development of technical reports documenting analysis and findings for review by a project manager or senior scientist/engineer.
- Review data, prepare recommendations, provide summaries, and compile technical documents.
