Job Description
AECOM is seeking a self-motivated experienced Engineer for our Houston, TX area, however the candidate could be located in the Baton Rouge, LA area as well. In this important position, the successful candidate will support Project Managers in the planning, project or task management and supervision of environmental compliance tasks, complex field tasks, including site investigations, drilling oversight, soil and groundwater sample collection, and related work. The candidate will also provide office support for project management, environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, data management and technical evaluation, and report preparation for a wide range of multidisciplinary environmental projects.
This position holds significant growth potential to be a Project Manager or Technical Lead, therefore, the ideal candidate must be able to work independently and productively in a collaborative team-environment, foster team building through inclusion and mentorship, display a high level of organization and communication, and demonstrate a strong desire to learn from Project Managers.
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Field-based task oversight of environmental investigation and remediation projects.
Field-based task oversight of environmental compliance sampling activities.
Oversee and lead well installation and sampling tasks.
Support development of environmental permit applications.
Project Management tasks including budgeting, schedule and scope development and tracking
Data management, evaluation and report writing with experience drafting environmental investigation reports.
Qualified candidates must be comfortable with periodic travel throughout the TX and LA area.
Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
Excellent oral and written communication.
This position requires both office and field work; the successful candidate should expect up to 40% commitment overseeing field work and mentoring junior staff.
