Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented, self-directed professional to provide safety support within our Montana Wood Products organization. This position reports directly to the Health & Safety Manager and supports Plywood and Lumber on the Kalispell Complex. The Health & Safety Professional will assist the Health & Safety Manager in establishing reliable methods for improving safety performance and nurturing a culture in which safety is an overriding value in all activities.

As a Health & Safety Professional you will have the opportunity to:

Assist in implementing and monitoring safety programs and procedures to ensure personnel and facility safety.
Assist with the presentation of Safety Training for employees such as Lockout/Tagout, Emergency Response, and other annual required training.
Assist with industrial hygiene monitoring to ensure workplace exposures remain under Federal and Weyerhaeuser exposure limits.
Participates in monitoring and controlling the organization's safety standards in accordance with OSHA and State regulations.
Support the Safety Manager and team leaders in implementation and execution of the Health & Safety Management system.
Organize and participate in safety audits and inspections as needed.
Assist with Paired Safety Observation (PSO) program execution and works with team leaders to complete the PSOs.
Assist with incident investigations and inspections of procedures, equipment, and materials.
Work closely with team leaders to identify hazards, update and develop JSA's and SOP's as well as conduct annual reviews and revisions.
Maintain detailed records through online documentation, electronic databases and SharePoint files to track and evaluate work related injuries and illness.
Maintain supply inventories and personnel protection equipment.
Mentor the "Safety Action Team" and its functions into a workable and functioning part of the safety culture to add value. Encourage employee involvement in safety and promote a caring safety culture.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Qualifications
The successful candidates will have demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:
BA/BS in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline is strongly preferred
Graduate Safety Professional (GSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or equivalent certifications strongly preferred.
A minimum of one year of experience strongly preferred
Experience in a manufacturing or other heavy industrial environment strongly preferred.
Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with all business groups to accomplish group objectives
Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and achieve goals in a timely manner
Communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing
Ability and willingness to support a multi-shift manufacturing organization

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $61,400 to $92,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
