The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist reports directly to the Global Director of EHS with responsibilities centered around management of crucial environmental health and safety protocols. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with Federal and State Agencies.

The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist reports directly to the Global Director of EHS with responsibilities centered around management of crucial environmental health and safety protocols. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with Federal and State Agencies.
Responsibilities
Required Qualifications/Education:
- Bachelor's degree in EHS, environmental science, biology, chemistry, animal science, industrial hygiene or related field (will consider sufficient relevant experience in lieu of degree).
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local environmental and safety regulations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with different areas/levels
- Strong presentation, communication, and root cause analysis skills.
- Hazard recognition and ability to alleviate or minimize hazards.
- Injury and Incident reduction and abatement skills.
- A continuous improvement mindset and able to influence and bring people onboard to ideas for improvement.
- Proficient use of PC-based application (MS Office, on-line training software, EPA and OSHA regulatory packages).
- Travel Required - 15-20%
- Must be able to work around / near animals in a limited capacity and follow sterile entry procedures
- TB testing and titer testing, proof of immunity
- Must be able lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a lab environment.
- 3+ years of related experience in environmental, health, & safety.
- Farming and/or other livestock/animal related skillsets.
