Each team member at GrayMar is committed to working to build and sustain an equitable and inclusive work environment where cultural diversity is celebrated and valued.Reporting to our Director of Sales, the Lab Pack Chemist is responsible for the performance of tasks associated with collection, identification, sampling, characterization, and proper packaging, including lab packing, of non-hazardous and hazardous waste materials. Additionally, this position will assist with profiling, and manifesting and managing waste materials for proper transportation and disposal. Environmental Field Chemists will also assist with waste collection events such as hazardous household waste campaigns. Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all time;
  • Sampling, collection, identification, characterization and packaging of non-hazardous and hazardous waste within customer facilities.
  • Segregation, labeling, manifesting of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials.
  • Supports HHW collection events
  • Operation of Class "B" vehicle to transport waste from customer sites.
Job Requirements
  • Education: College degree in chemistry or equivalent science discipline
  • Familiarity with 49CFR 171 and 40 CFR 265 requirements
  • OSHA, DOT and RCRA experience preferred
  • Possibility of travel up to 30% of the year based on work demand.
  • Valid drivers license. Class "B" CLD license with hazardous materials endorsements preferred.
