Senior Microbiologist Position at Synergy Bioscience

About Us: Synergy Bioscience is a Contract Research Organization (CRO) that supports pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies with product development, analytical chemistry, and microbiology testing services. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Microbiologist to join our full-time staff.

Position Overview: As a Senior Microbiologist, you will play a pivotal role in our operations. We are looking for someone with a strong foundation in microbiology, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement microbiology testing methods, analyze data, and provide actionable insights.
  • Lead thorough investigations, manage Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), and update test procedures and standards.
  • Perform routine laboratory tasks including sample logging, testing, trend analysis, and environmental monitoring.
  • Maintain stock cultures, biological indicators, and high-quality microbiological media.
  • Conduct sterilization testing and microbiological research as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with USP/EP chapters for various microbiological assessments.
  • Qualify, calibrate, and maintain all equipment to meet "Before-Use" standards.
  • Adhere to Good Documentation Practices and prepare GMP documentation.
  • Provide expert guidance to clients on microbiology processes, products, and risks.
  • Coach and mentor internal stakeholders to ensure GMP compliance.
  • Support cleanroom qualification, requalification, and environmental monitoring.
  • Maintain a pristine and well-equipped microbiology laboratory environment.
  • Participate in regulatory affairs, investigations, audits, and inquiries to uphold high standards.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology.
  • At least 7 years of experience in microbiology testing.
  • Proficiency in testing equipment qualification and clean room standards.
  • Proven ability to conduct microbiological assays in a clean room setting.
  • Strong technical writing skills, especially in creating SOPs and protocols.
