The Senior Staff Engineer, Geologist, or Environmental Scientist understands this role requires many levels of leadership to help advance our company to its optimal performance.

The ideal candidate will contribute to the growth of the environmental practice area business for our company. S/he will assist and support in the developing and implementing growth strategies and evoking change that resulted in a sustainable competitive advantage. This person will have interacted with client businesses in a fashion that has achieved trusted advisor status.

Responsibilities:

Based on an increased understanding of environmental project requirements and the technical environment, this position is responsible for more independent work and participation in more complex project work.

Senior Staff tasks may include:

Coordinate and execute field data collection and/or site observations using industry standardized procedures (US EPA, DTSC, RWQCB)

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Ability to assertively direct others in the field such as subcontracted drillers, excavation contractors, utility locators, and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.

Perform a supporting technical role in more complex projects that include data management and evaluation with routine to advanced analysis.

Technical writing and reporting, and development of recommendations with some assistance

Perform or supervise field assignments that require judgment and experience.

Perform client interaction with effective communication skills while scheduling and performing field activities.

Must be able to wear respiratory protection and pass baseline physical for job position.

Valid drivers license and safe driving record.

Required Skills:

Early career professional with a Masters degree, or a Bachelors degree from accredited university in engineering, geology or related field.

EIT or GIT required.

5+ years plus

Willing to travel to project locations throughout California

Preferred Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and organizational skills

Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel

40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120).

$80,000-$95,000
