Our Hazardous Building Materials group is currently looking for a full-time Field Technician in our Williston, VT office to perform various inspections and field work. Under the mentoring and management of a Project Manager, this professional will be responsible for projects that support regulatory compliance and construction activities relating to hazardous building materials (asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs, etc.), soil, groundwater, radon, and indoor air quality.

Key Responsibilities
The Field Technician will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Perform asbestos and construction project monitoring work for hazardous building materials, mold, and air quality parameters
  • Collection of air, water, soil, bulk and/or wipe samples for asbestos, metals, radon, and other regulated materials/chemicals analyses
  • Prepare proper record keeping and field documentation; develop summary reports
  • Previous field work experience preferred (indoor air quality, radon, lead, asbestos)
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Associate degree in engineering, architecture, industrial hygiene, or environmental science required; Bachelors is a plus
  • Typically requires at least 1 year of experience in construction or environmental sampling fields
  • Previous field work experience preferred; desire to work outdoors
  • Current Vermont Asbestos Project Monitor and Asbestos Inspector/Management Planner certifications/licenses preferred
  • OSHA 40-Hour (HAZWOPER) and OSHA 10-Hour training preferred
  • Excellent writing and communication skills required
  • Familiarity using Microsoft 360 Office software desirable
  • Ability to travel to field assignments approximately 90% of the time
