To assist in the execution of support functions in the camp department in order to deliver excellent customer service and help achieve the overall mission and goals of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio at Camp Oty'Okwa.

Environmental Education with School Groups:
- Continually review state academic content standards and environmental education curriculum; revise, update and develop new program sessions that address age-appropriate state standards
- Provide program presentations, contribute to updating marketing materials and attend networking opportunities for recruiting new schools/groups
- Work with all school groups to steward relationships, increase engagement and customize programming as needed
- Maintain positive relationship with new and existing school groups' staff/leaders.
- Coordinate with the Camp Conference & Retreat Director to assign group hosting responsibilities
- Coordinate assigned groups' schedule at camp: program activities, meals, lodging and additional resources
- Greet each assigned group upon arrival and oversee day-to-day program activities; manage groups' lost & found
- Recruit and hire program staff for environmental education classes & activities
- Manage and supervise any live-in staff
- Train, supervise and schedule program staff to ensure appropriate staff, and number of staff are available for each program activity; ensure 2 adults are with each group
- Train environmental education program staff on new program adjustments and required state academic content standards according to grade level
- Ensure program staff are trained and knowledgeable on basic first aid
- Inventory and ensure all program materials/supplies are available before groups' arrival
- Observe program staff during training and continually during season to ensure quality standard of program delivery
- Review and develop evaluations for environmental education curriculum to determine effectiveness in the following areas: state academic content standards, camp goals and philosophy, use of camp resources and impact on students/teachers
- Submit payroll information on program staff
- Help to ensure all policies and safety measures dictated by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio and the American Camp Association (ACA) are implemented and followed by staff
- Communicate with staff and organize program to help to ensure that program areas, sites and materials/equipment are properly maintained and set up appropriately, complying with any standards relating
- Participate as a team member to continually improve the environmental education program, curriculum and sites/areas; assist with any assigned program development or related projects
- Provide program presentations, contribute to updating marketing materials and attend networking opportunities to recruit adult workshop participants and new community workshops
- Assist and eventually lead coordination of adult education classes: recruit and schedule presenters, update marketing venues, coordinate college-credit hours and recruit participants
- Develop and collect data from evaluations that reflect the quality of the adult programs and workshops
- Oversee quality of programs and continual assessment of state academic and industry standards
- Support and collaborate with partner agency efforts by participating in outside workshops and events; assist with partner event staffing
- Have consulting role in summer camp general program delivery
- Plan educational components to add to summer camp programming
- Implement educational programming throughout general program and for specific education-focused summer groups (ie: science camp, literacy camp)
- Assist with year-round summer program staff and youth development training
- Assist with on-going marketing of camp: updating brochures, newsletters, website, social media platforms
- Oversee and coordinate the garden and composting program
- Help to maintain positive relationships with community, parks, rental groups etc.
- Assist with coordination of camp-sponsored community events
- Assist with fundraising events and grants
- Help facilitate environmental stewardship projects and related volunteer coordination
- Attend appropriate continuing education opportunities and partner meetings
- Supervise any assigned AmeriCorps members
- Be available to cross-train and substitute roles with the Camp Conference & Retreat Director; assist with user group details
- Drive agency vehicles and trailers as needed
- See to all other camp issues as needed and requested by the Camp Director
