You will engage with an interdisciplinary team of scientists across the organization to further development of upstream production platforms for critically needed gene therapy-based medicines. We are seeking an ambitious post-doctoral scientist with strong research and communication skills to contribute to high visibility research projects. You will engage with an interdisciplinary team of scientists across the organization to further development of upstream production platforms for critically needed gene therapy-based medicines. In this role, you will:
- Study the molecular determinants of gene therapy drug production
- Conduct exploratory studies into novel gene therapy drug production methods
- Guide platform changes that improve drug product quality and production yield
- Work cross-functionally to accelerate gene therapy drug development
- Identify areas of key need across clinical development and champion creative solutions to address those needs. Maintain external awareness and learning to benefit the organization
- Present findings at conferences and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals
Basic Qualifications
- PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, virology, biochemistry, or related field
- Experience with working in a BSL-2 laboratory environment
Additional Skills/Preferences
If you are described with these skills, you could be a great fit for the role:
- Significant experience with molecular biology techniques
- Molecular cloning expertise
- Virology background and/or expertise working with gene therapy vectors
- Experienced with eukaryotic cell culture techniques, including cell line generation
- Self-directed and highly motivated individual who wants to learn new techniques while continually pursuing research and publication goals
- Excellent communicator (oral and written) with presentation experience, along with a strong publication record
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting

- This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend to 3 years. You will have opportunities to apply for full time positions after your duration is complete.
