The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Director is responsible for leading the development and implementation of comprehensive health, safety, and environmental strategies and programs. This role ensures the safety and well-being of employees, compliance with industry regulations, and the minimization of environmental impacts across the BrightFarms company.

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Director is responsible for leading the development and implementation of comprehensive health, safety, and environmental strategies and programs. This role ensures the safety and well-being of employees, compliance with industry regulations, and the minimization of environmental impacts across the BrightFarms company.
Specifically, you will:
- Develop and facilitate workshops, trainings and events supporting the advancement of EHS program and policies for all employees at BrightFarms
- Responsible for the overall EHS regulatory reporting and compliance activities for the company
- Develop and implement EHS programs across our greenhouse facilities ex (LOTO, confined space, forklift, chemical handling, etc
- Support the development and training of Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) in support of SOP's for key operational activities and positions
- Lead incident investigation processes, including root cause analysis and corrective action
- Support continuous improvement projects and activities across multiple greenhouse facilities
- Support facilities management in required regulatory permit compliance, data collection, and recordkeeping (eg. Storm water, waste, air permits, etc)
- Provide leadership and direction to the EHS department fostering a culture of environmental stewardship, safety and health
- Establish and implement rigorous problem-solving and root cause analysis processes
- Develop and implement sustainment plans to integrate changes into standard operating models
- Build and manage robust best practice networks across the organization
The ideal candidate has:
- Bachelor's degree in HSE or related field
- 5-7 years of hands-on environmental and safety experience in a
warehousing/distribution, manufacturing, food industry, or agriculture operation - Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or equivalent certification preferred
- Experience supporting manufacturing locations that operate in a 24/7 schedule with multiple rotating shifts
- Strengths include interpersonal skills and good written/oral communications skills to successfully interface with company personnel at all levels
- Ability to provide strong leadership and team building to lead and/or facilitate incident investigations, trainings, and policies
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence diverse stakeholder groups
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines within time constraints.

- Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred not required)
