Position Overview
Associate Consultant II Urban Forestry Planning, DRG Western Region (California preferred. Secondary Nevada, Washington, Oregon)
Objectives

  • Provide direct project management and support for urban forestry planning projects (85%).
  • Assists with sales process by preparing task budgets and proposals (10%).
  • Support and drive urban forestry planning market growth (5%).

Job Duties
  • Perform and coordinate urban forest planning projects, including management plans, master plans, operations review, resource analysis, and ordinance review
  • Coordination and assisting with all aspects of multiple concurrent projects including technical report and plan writing and review, performing administrative duties, staff training, maintaining safety training, performing field data analysis, delegating and overseeing project tasks, quality control assurance, and working closely with clients.
  • Preparation and/or oversight of project deliverables (reports, plans, presentations, and supporting documentation).
  • Developing and assisting with project proposals, budgets, scheduling, invoicing, revenue projections, performance and profitability tracking on a by-project basis.
  • Proactive and accountable communication with principal, other project managers, project coordinators, and business developers, and junior staff. Responsible for ensuring project communication among staff at all levels and ensuring that projects are executed according to contract. Constructive feedback and oversight for project teams.
  • Manage positive relationships and explore opportunities for additional work with existing clients and pursue relationships with potential new clients.
  • Client outreach and support for business development, including active involvement in professional organizations and attendance at conferences, and active participation in the development and execution of annual tactical plans.
  • Attend team meetings for scheduling and coordination and complete work assignments/tasks with minimal direction.
  • Manage task priorities and provide weekly/monthly project invoice projections, client progress reports, invoicing and A/R management for all assigned projects.
  • Submit and review weekly time reports/expense sheets.

Year 1 Success Metrics
  • Project Performance measured by profitability, work/deliverables quality, and client satisfaction
  • Utilization rate (85%+)
  • Demonstrate the ability to supervise project team members and assume accountability for assigned tasks and deliverables
  • Annual performance review and opportunity for expanded duties
Qualifications
Requirements
  • Associates degree or higher in related discipline or equivalent experience in a similar position
  • ISA Certified Arborist required. Municipal Specialist preferred.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • One or more years of experience in urban forestry management or planning

Compensation
  • $50/month personal cell phone stipend or DRG provided cell phone
  • $50/month stipend for home internet service
