Job DescriptionJob Description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and guide a team of marine gelcoat fiberglass technicians and marine paint specialists. Offer support, mentorship, and training to enhance their skills and ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Project Coordination: Plan and schedule daily activities to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.
  • Estimations: Prepare detailed time and materials-based estimates for marine fiberglass and paint applications.
  • Application and Finishing: Oversee the preparation, application, and finishing of marine paint, gelcoat, and varnish, ensuring adherence to industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory and supplies for marine fiberglass and paint operations, maintaining adequate stock levels and proper storage.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as production, purchasing, and quality assurance to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of goals.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform regular inspections and quality checks to ensure all work meets or exceeds established standards and customer expectations.
  • Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment, minimizing the risk of accidents and injuries.
  • Industry Trends: Stay informed about industry trends, new techniques, and emerging technologies in marine fiberglass and paint applications.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support to customers, addressing concerns and inquiries related to marine fiberglass and paint services.
  • Performance Monitoring: Assist in monitoring team performance, project status, and other relevant performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Recruitment: Support the recruitment process for new technicians as needed.

  • Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine gelcoat fiberglass work and marine paint applications.
    • Extensive knowledge of marine fiberglass materials, repair techniques, and structural reinforcement.
    • Proficiency in marine paint and varnish applications, including surface preparation, coating systems, and finish work.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire technicians to achieve goals and deliver high-quality results.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail and effective prioritization skills.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, customers, and other stakeholders.
    • General knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to marine fiberglass and paint operations.
    • Proficiency in using relevant tools, equipment, and software applications.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules, including occasional evening or weekend work as required.
