Who We Are:
Environmental and Safety Systems department supports environmental and safety regulatory compliance Institute-wide. The Environmental Compliance team performs inspections, collects/reports to Federal, State, and Local authorities, and supports EMS and improvement initiatives.

Environmental and Safety Systems department supports environmental and safety regulatory compliance Institute-wide. The Environmental Compliance team performs inspections, collects/reports to Federal, State, and Local authorities, and supports EMS and improvement initiatives.
Objectives of this Role:
- Perform engineering and/ or scientific analyses and other activities necessary to support the Environmental and Safety Systems (ESS) department related to environmental compliance.
- Assist staff in maintaining and improving environmental programs, including air quality, water, wastewater, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
- Prepare regulatory compliance documents for review/submittal in support of environmental compliance programs.
- Perform campus-wide surveillance activities related to environmental compliance and support continuous improvement of environmental programs.
- Experience with air permitting and dispersion modeling.
- Develop and/or update procedural documents for regulatory compliance.
- Perform campus-wide surveillance activities related to environmental compliance.
- Collect and compile data for regulatory reporting.
- Review potential environmental impacts of new research programs/activities.
- Support existing Environmental Management System implementation and recordkeeping.
- Requires a Bachelors degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or related earth science discipline.
- 3+ years: Experience in chemistry and chemical interactions in order to evaluate new projects.
- 3+ years: Experience with air quality compliance, air dispersion modeling, and air permitting.
- 3+ years: Familiarity with environmental management systems (ISO 14001) or ability to learn.
- 3+ years: Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently or with a team, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. A valid driver's license is required.
