- Perform rapid test methods
- Perform confirmation tests on suspect samples to identify the strain of bacteria
- Read, enter and evaluate process control samples
- Support root cause analysis investigations and suggest appropriate corrective actions
- Weigh appropriate amount of sample and pour correct agar to begin analysis procedures
- Pipette sample solution
- Pour agar into plates or tubes
- Prepare samples for analysis by recording, weighing and blending
- Read, calculate and record analysis data to produce a report
- Support corporate quality and continuous improvement process
- Must participate in cleaning schedule and maintain retain samples as required
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- BS degree in a science related field (preferably biology related, i.e. biology, microbiology, biochemistry, biological sciences)
- AS degree in biology related degree + experience
- Ability to work with food allergens
- exposure/experience with the following:
- sample prep
- weighing samples
- compositing samples
- aseptic technique
- plating
- dilutions
- lab safety
- qualitative pathogen testing (more or less needs to be able to do math calculations)
- must be able to work in a extremely fast paced environment
