We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Advisor to join our team in the energy industry. This role is pivotal in ensuring the health and safety of all our employees and the protection of the environment in which we operate. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, providing training, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in HSE and a passion for driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
- Provide expert advice on all aspects of HSE to management and staff.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to control potential hazards.
- Implement and manage training programs to increase HSE awareness and knowledge among employees.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Analyze HSE data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and effectiveness of HSE initiatives.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and represent the company in HSE matters.
- Lead the development of emergency response plans and procedures.
- Promote a positive HSE culture within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a HSE role within the energy industry.
- Extensive knowledge of HSE regulations and industry standards.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in analyzing health and safety data.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment methods and practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in the use of HSE management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
