Job DescriptionJob Description
Onsite role: Monday - Friday
Shift: 7AM - 3 PM
As the EHS Specialist II, you will prepare and/or assist in preparing policies and procedures in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS). You have knowledge in EHS Programs, including but not limited to, Powered Industrial Vehicles, Ergonomics, Training, Risk Assessment, and Emergency Response. Perform routine tasks with little instruction and supervision, and general instruction on new assignments. This position will work closely with both senior internal and external personnel.
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct EHS walk through frequently including documentation and follow-up as needed.
• Complete monthly EHS reports
• Support incident investigations including near miss events, compliance issues, work-related injuries and/or illnesses.
• Support site's Ergonomics Program. Act as liaison to associates and others receiving or requesting ergonomic evaluations.
• Provide guidance on EHS Training Programs.
• Review associate EHS Observations.
• Support the sites Hazardous Waste Program
• Maintain working knowledge of local, State and Federal Regulations that apply to our operations including but not limited to Federal OSHA, EPA and California Health and Safety Code.
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of related experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or biotech or medical device manufacturing environment with safety and/or environmental responsibilities.
• Experience working around hazardous waste programs strongly preferred.
• Familiar with DHS, OSHA, EPA, RCRA, Air Quality, and Water Pollution regulations, preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to organize work and establish priorities.
• Effective customer service skills.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Must be proficient working with PCs. Requires good command of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and the Internet.
