Job Details

Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology or related field
Have lab experience
Proficient in molecular techniques e.g. cloning, DNA/RNA extraction
Have experience working with various mammalian cell lines
Experience in Molecular techniques e.g. qPCR, RT-qPCR (design primers/probe, optimize condition)
Willing to relocate to Rochester

Key Responsibilities
  • This is an entry-level position that requires execution of experiments under supervision, with an opportunity to grow as an independent scientist.
  • Maintain mammalian cell lines in culture and isolate primary cells from whole blood and other tissues.
  • Perform transfection and infection of cell culture with different viral and non-viral vectors.
  • Perform ELISA and cell-based assays.
  • Perform basic cloning, plasmid, RNA, and gDNA isolation.
  • Collaborate with other team members to advance cross-functional scientific projects and standardize adoption of new scientific techniques.

Following an onboarding period, the candidate will perform experimental research under supervision and in close collaboration with the rest of the scientific team.

Valued Complementary Skills
Flow cytometry, fluorescent microscopy, suspension cell culture, lentivirus generation, SDS-PAGE and western blot, viral titering by TCID50, cell-based assays, ELISA, affinity chromatography, complement assays, Prism software.
