The Health, Safety & Environment Manager ("HSE Manager") will have direct and overall responsibility for the development and continuous improvement and execution of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures for both Lithion locations in Henderson, Nevada.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties
- Develops and implements company health and safety procedures, processes, and programs which ensure the safety of the operations, which are compliant with OSHA, OHS and other local, state, and federal rules and regulations
- Evaluates, assesses and updates HSE policies and procedures; providing support and advice regarding the interpretation of HSE matters
- Manage activities related to HSE compliance, reporting, regulatory permitting, hazardous waste handling, and waste reduction/recycling programs, and set up necessary HSE systems to audit and modifies plans to continuously improve compliance and HSE culture
- Investigates incidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions. Completes incident causation analysis, develops, implements and follows up on corrective actions
- Maintains record keeping systems, conducts inspections and audits
- Maintains HSE documentation including the Company's HSE Manuals, ensuring workers are trained and fully competent regarding health and safety matters. Performs updates as conditions and processes change
- Collaborates with Human Resources on the administration of worker's compensation claims, including OSHA reporting
- Leads safety meetings and client meetings as required
- Oversees the applications for and receipt of necessary permits
- Research environmental regulations and policies and implements changes to ensure compliance
- Makes regular inspections of the work site and conducts risk assessments
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience related to safety and/or occupational health, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree with a focus in Occupational Safety & Health Management or other related science/engineering degree preferred
- In depth knowledge of legislation (OSHA and EPA) and procedures
- Experience in managing health & safety programs in a multi-facility company
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
- Experience in implementing safety culture improvement programs preferred
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation preferred
- Proficiency in MS office and safety management information systems.
- Exceptional organizational and communications skills
- Proven leadership skills, ability to foster employee engagement
- Experience leading and developing remote and off-site team of safety of professionals
- Knowledgeable in Workers' Compensation case management including transition to work programs
- Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, within the stated objectives and guidelines of the company
- Able to travel between Lithion Locations
