Come grow with us! We are seeking to add a dynamic, multi-site Environmental, Health and Safety Director to join our team!

The Environmental, Health and Safety Director coordinates and manages all environmental and safety related activities to ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations; manages projects or implements continuous improvement activities related to reduction/elimination of environmental waste and risk for all locatons.
  • Develops and maintains a safety, health, and environmental program.
  • Develops and implements strategies for control and reduction of waste and manages environmental costs
  • Manages all aspects Workers Compensation program, including claims management.
  • Creates and presents reports to leadership team
  • Maintains and submits all governmental reports, logs and documentation required
  • Assists in development, monitoring and control of processes, as required, to ensure consistent product quality, and compliance to safety and environmental standards
  • Ensures each facility's compliance with all state, local and federal regulations and laws relating to environmental, health and safety matters.
  • Establishes safety performance metrics that foster a proactive safety culture and tracks progress by measuring leading and trailing indicators.
  • Recommends and implements measures to reduce or eliminate risks of industrial accidents and hazards.
  • Provides training, technical expertise and applied knowledge in safety and environmental programs.
  • May be required to supervise and direct the activities of others.
  • Manages Safety Council and special team for all locations
  • Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management.

Qualifications, Skills and Educational Requirements
  • BS degree in Occupational Health and Safety or environmental Science highly desired
  • Minimum of 5 years' EH&S experience in a manufacturing facility - preferably managing multiple locations highly desired
  • 5+ years' experience as an EHS Manager or higher, required
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations and laws
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Must have excellent attention to detail, the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is:
  • Continually required to stand or walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Continually required to stand and sit. Occasionally required to climb, stoop bend and lift
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to travel between local sites regularly and occasionally travel to out of state.
