Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of the biology of complications related to chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy including Cytokine Release Syndrome (CRS) and Immune Effector Cell Associated Neurotoxicity Syndrome (ICANS). Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Board-certified Pediatric Hematology-Oncology.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching and research training of residents, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, and medical students.
Clinical responsibilities may include serving as attending physician on the inpatient hematologic malignancies service and outpatient immunotherapy service at CHOP. Expertise in the care of children, adolescents, and young adults with hematological malignancies and those undergoing CAR T-cell therapy is required.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include directing an independent research program focused on understanding the biology of CRS and ICANS with a goal towards improved developing strategies to prevent and treat these disorders. Candidates should have a robust track record of publications and successful extramural funding.
