Stony Brook University invites applications for a computational ecologist or evolutionary biologist at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of climate change and biodiversity. The successful applicant will employ innovative computational and data science approaches to address the causes, consequences, and prevention of biodiversity loss in relation to the global climate crisis. The successful candidate must display an interest and ability to collaborate with the breadth of interdisciplinary research ongoing at IACS. The candidate's teaching would be divided between courses in the Department of Ecology and Evolution and those serving IACS's existing certificate programs in data science and computation.
We seek a candidate to augment or complement one or more of the university's current research strengths and to develop an interdisciplinary research program. The applicant will educate our diverse body of students as global citizens and give them the broad perspective needed to confront two of the most important global challenges of the 21st century.
