SIA is a frontrunner in environmental conservation being the first Zero-Landfill automotive manufacturing plant and the first to have its campus designated a backyard wildlife habitat. Primary Responsibilities
- Provide support for air projects, focusing on emissions calculations, permit preparation, NESHAP/NSPS compliance, annual reporting (Title V, GHG, etc.), emissions monitoring, and other air quality related tasks
- Work with the cross-functional groups to implement proactive compliance plans, procedures, programs, and training to ensure compliance with environmental permits, applicable regulations, and internal protocols
- Review complex rules and regulations for applicability to site compliance; develop and implement strategies to incorporate applicable findings to ensure all requirements are met
- Lead investigations into environmental issues, identifying root causes, developing appropriate corrective action plans, and ensuring implementation of appropriate countermeasures
- Independently conduct internal environmental audits and inspections on a regular frequency
- Review and evaluate new material requests for impacts to Title V permit compliance
- Engage and educate associates on compliance program requirements
- Support site and section continuous improvement initiatives; develop and implement new methods of environmental data collection, review, and analysis
- Assist in designing, preparing, implementing, and maintaining site specific environmental initiatives
- Provide technical support to daily environmental operations
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical degree from an accredited program plus 5 years relevant experience
- Expert knowledge of Title V program, state and federal regulations, manufacturing processes, and pollution control devices
- Experience quantifying source's potential and actual emissions by reviewing/auditing emission and process data and utilizing accepted emission quantification calculation methodologies and models
- Experience and knowledge in source operations and source permitting; ability to correctly interpret and implement NSPS, NSR/PSD, BACT, and MACT
- Ability to effectively communicate complex or controversial environmental issues to audiences unfamiliar with the subject matter
- Experience researching complex issues and proposing effective and efficient solutions
- Experience conducting inspections, collecting and assessing data, and analyzing results
- Skilled in writing clear and concise reports describing complex industry applications and regulatory determinations
- Ability to analyze and review large data sets for accuracy and completeness
- Ability to work in a team environment and occasionally lead team efforts
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical degree from an accredited program plus 1 - 3 years relevant experience
- Experience drafting Title V permits
