Academic Gynecological Pathologist

The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), is seeking an outstanding candidate for a full-time clinical faculty position as a Surgical Pathologist, focusing on gynecological pathology, ideally for academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Clinical X series, though the rank of Associate or Full Professor may be considered, depending on level of experience and qualifications.
Qualified candidates must hold an MD (or its equivalent), have or be eligible for a valid California Medical License, and be either Board Eligible or Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology by the time of appointment.
All applicants must have or will have completed fellowship training within anatomic pathology or have its equivalent in clinical experience (3 or more years of sign out experience) at the time of appointment. Priority will be given to candidates with all of the following: formal gynecological pathology fellowship training; demonstrated success in scholarly activities in gynecological pathology, and interest and experience to cover a minor component of service in a second subspecialty area.

Candidates are expected to participate in night and weekend surgical pathology call, departmental teaching activities for medical students, house-staff, and fellows, and interdepartmental conferences. The desirable candidate will also have outstanding diagnostic and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $112,500 - $377,200.
