You enjoy leading, mentoring, and growing your team by working collaboratively with them, clients, and interdisciplinary teams to help them deliver projects on time and within budget.Your technical expertise includes some or all of the following: NEPA analysis, wetlands, fisheries, wildlife, botany, restoration ecology, regulatory permitting, compliance monitoring and reporting, mitigation planning, and ecological monitoring. You have significant experience working on a variety of project types, such as airports, ports, natural resources planning, infrastructure development/planning, and/or mixed-use transit-oriented development.You deliver clear, concise, well-written and supported guidance and recommendations. You are comfortable talking with individuals or leading group discussions and presenting information understandably and speaking persuasively about complex topics to internal teams, clients, regulatory agency staff, teaming partners, other project stakeholders, and the general public.You are located in Oregon or Washington, preferably near Bend, Portland or Seattle.What You Will Do for ESASupervise a team of environmental professionals that vary in experience and technical expertise using your judgment and critical thinking skills to select, apply and adapt supervisory and managerial techniques, methods, and procedures for career growth and guidance. You will serve as a mentor and advisor to develop the technical skills of your staff to help advance their careers.Demonstrate a clear understanding of project management principles and practices and be able to develop your staff's skill in the development of environmental compliance and planning documents in accordance with applicable guidelines and requirements, while balancing workloads and assuring that client expectations, budget, and schedules are met. You may participate or manage projects in your area of expertise.You may lead the preparation of proposals for federal, state, and local projects including providing technical input, contributing to proposal writing, identifying opportunities, and engaging with proposal/interview teams. These efforts will include having the responsibility for preparing scopes of work and budgets and reviewing scopes and budgets prepared by your staff. You may also lead and direct marketing and business development pursuits including developing capture strategies.Provide mentorship and support for junior staff, including reviewing their work for accuracy and clarity and providing constructive feedback and career development guidance while working on projects together. Consistently demonstrate your attentive listening skills and clear writing skills while leading staff performance evaluations.
